The big surprise of RIAT Arrivals day was the attendance of Her Majesty the Queen and Royal party.
I don't know how much a secret this was, but certainly I and other photographers I spoke to, were unaware it
was to happen until we arrived at RAF Fairford.
The Queen was there to take the Royal Air Force 90 Aircraft Flypast Salute, marking the 90th Anniversary of
the formation of the Royal Air Force.
Purely coincidence of course, but the rain stopped just before the Helicopter with the Royal Party arrived
and didn't start again until after they left.
