KK116/G-AMPY Douglas C-47B-15 of the Air Atlantique Classic Flight
in Post-war Royal Air Force Transport Command Markings
Related Notes & Links
KK116/G-AMPY was providing some of the last UK Pleasure Flights on DC3-3/C047 Aircraft during the show.
Changes in European Union Law mean that to continue to be licensed to carry Passengers this and other
DC-3/C-47 Aircraft would need major modifications, including a secure flight deck door
(anti--terrorist measure). As this is an historic Aircraft giving Pleasure Flights, not an Aircraft
engaged in normal Airline operations, these modifications were not only too expensive to contemplate
but historically inappropriate.
