Accompanying Boeing F-15E Strike Eagle 01-2001 of the 48th Statue of Liberty Fighter Wing out of RAF Lakenheath are:
North American P-51 Mustang P-51 44-63864/G-CBNM 'Twilight Tear' in 86FS/78FG markings
North American P-51 Mustang 44-84847/N251RJ 'Miss Velma' in 343FS/55FG markings
Bell P-39Q Airacobra 42-19993/G-CEJU 'Brooklyn Bum 2' in its original 82TRS/71TRG markings (one of the very few both airworthy and operational).
It should be noted that Twilight Tear departed for the US to attend the 'Gathering of Mustangs' soon after this display.
Miss Velma was to escort the P-38 'Glacier Girl', which unfortunately had technical problems on route.
Regarding Miss Velma, this Aircraft was converted to a 2 seat TF-51, and when the Photograph was taken had been newly acquired by the Fighter Collection.
