XR362 Shorts Belfast C1 - belonging to 53 squadron. When demobbed, it became G-BEPE of HeavyLift
at Southend.
When Heavylift ceased trading 'Papa Echo' fell in to a somewhat state of disrepair.
It got a reprieve in 2007 when it was decided that HeavyLift in Australia would use it.
It got as far as 3 engines being installed, and being run, and readying the Aircraft to
make it airworthy. At this point it was then deemed far to expensive to complete, and
it was decided not to proceed.
The incoming Southend Airport Manager ordered her for scrapping in 2008.
