The Aircraft Pictured was ex KLM. In an oblique way this symbolised the relationship between Martinair and KLM, which for a quarter of a century
as had a 50% stake in Martinair . KLM Group finally became the sole owner of Martinair in early 2009 after a deal was finally approved by the EU
Commission.
Martinair founded on 24 May 1958 as Martin's Air Charter (MAC), in 1966 the name changed to Martinair Holland, but the MAC logo was retained on
the tail as can be seen in the above photograph. In 1991 a re-branding dropped the Holland from titles just leaving Martinair and the MAC Logo
disappeared from the tail.
However in 2008 to celebrate the Airlines 50th Anniversary several aircraft were repainted in the the 1970's scheme shown in
the Above photograph.
