The Ilyushin Il-18D was the most popular Export Version of the type and was used by Airlines not only in the then Eastern Bloc countries, but also by a number of Airlines normally
considered Non-aligned.
One operator Cubana is reputed to have retrofitted their Il-18s with the Bristol Britannia nosewheel and other parts in the nose gear, to improve the handling on poor runways!
