The most closely related competitor to the Fokker F-27 Series was initially the Handley Page HPR-7 Dart Herald. Whilst Handley Page sold 50 of their design, Fokker Built 581 F27 Aircraft, plus 213 of the updated Fokker 50 (also designated Fokker F27 Mark 50) and Fokker 60 (Freighter Version of the 50). In addition, Fairchild-Hillier under licence 128 F-27 and then developed and advanced version the Fairchild Hiller FH-227 of which 78 were built.
