Fred Olsen Air Transport are best remembered for being one of the few European long term Operators of
the Curtiss C-46 Commando and in the period covered by the album the Douglas DC-6.
So the Convair CV-240 was a one off in the Fred Olsen Fleet.
The Convair CV-240 and indeed any of the Aircraft in that series (240/340/440/540/580/600) were
never a common sight at Gatwick, and as with the Finnair CV-440 in this album, never attracted much interest
even among Spotters.
