Formerly a British European Airways Aircraft - Class Name Elizabethan, until May 1960 when sold to the Royal Jordanian Air Force.

Returned to the British Register on the 1st February 1963, when for SIX days it was registered to Handley Page before being sold to Dan Air, who registered it on the 26 February 1963.

G-ALZO served with Dan Air until the end of the summer season 1971 and flew the last Dan Air commercial Airspeed AS.57 Ambassador 2 flight on the 28th October 1971. The Aircraft then went to the Dan Air Engineering base at Lasham where it was stored. Finally in September 1981 Dan Air decided it would never fly again and notified the CAA that it was PWfU (Permanently Withdrawn from Use), but retained it at Lasham.

In 1986 Dan Air donated it to The Duxford Aviation Society and it went by Road to Duxford. Here the Aircraft was restored and is now displayed in Hangar 1 and is the last remaining example of its type!
