Telegraph Obituary - Sir Freddie Laker
Although Laker Airways had only a 12 Year History, the Freddie Laker Story, is interwoven with the development of British Independent Airlines following WWII, whether running his own companies, or as the first MD of British United Airways, Laker touched every aspect, and often shaped
the way British Independents evolved. Whilst the years have diluted his legacy, echoes linger on, with the likes of Sir Richard Branson acknowledging their debt to his inspiration.
